Miniature Paintings coming up

I've always loved miniature art and I see that I still have time to enter the Florida Miniature Art Show. I have one already done, and I have 4 more to go. I'm looking thru my reference photos to decide what I'm going to paint. Horses of course, but I have other ideas. The only thing about a miniature show is you have to remember the artwork has to be 1/6 actual size. So an artist cannot put in cropped closeups, or other items that aren't 1/6 actual life size. I'll photograph the one painting I have done and post it sometime this week. The others will come as I paint them.

Otto hears the doorbell

This is a new painting I just finished of a cute doxie called Otto. I think he just heard someone at the door. The painting is oil on a 6 x 12 panel. I really like painting on panels, much better than canvas.

I just posted "Moonlight Jumper". This painting shows a beautiful white horse on a tropical night. It almost reminds me of an island and he is jumping from the jungle onto the beach. I like all the foliage, but I need to put more reflective colors on the white of the horse.

Hot Sunday Afternoon

Boy is it hot outside. I was going to go ride my bike, but I think I'll work on a painting instead. I just can't get in the mood to go out in the 90 plus temps. I need to get the painting done of Otto the doxie anyway, so this is the perfect time to do it.

Latest Horse Paintings

Well I finally got a few minutes to set up my blog to show my recent oil painting. I have a lot a different work in my mind that I will work on soon. I just have to get a few promised projects done. You know, a promise is a promise. I learned that from Sandy Candy.
